I am a final year student of Product Design at Dundee University. I like to take into consideration the whole process of a project, from design, through manufacture, right up until packaging and shipping. It makes projects have more depth and realism. My project for this year has looked at the technology addiction that young people are starting to have and how it ends up keeping them up at night instead of sleeping. By choosing to use their phone instead of sleeping could have adverse effects on their mental and physical health. My project, 夜間night*, aims to help, first by being a mood light that helps the user get to sleep, and secondly, if their phone receives a message, the phone is basically amplified, flashing brightly and vibrating disturbing the user and encouraging them to turn their phone off.
