Zoe Kidgell talks to us about her recent experience of exhibiting her work at this years New Designers exhibition.

New Designers is an event that brings together graduates from across all major disciplines to showcase the next generation of design leaders, and launch their careers. Held at the Business Design Centre in London, the event is split into two parts. Part 1 showcasing from ceramics to textiles, and part 2 showcasing from visual communication to furniture design.

Zoe:
"I've recently come back from a week down in London for New Designers 2011 which has to be the best experience I've had with my work so far! Commuting there on the Monday was insane, the heat as soon as the group of us stepping off the train was near unbearable, thank God for the air conditioned stand at the Business Design Centre!

After a full day and a half setting up the stand and make sure our work looked tip-top we were all ready for the opening night on Wednesday!

I couldn't have predicted the interest and positive comments I was getting about all my work and it was very humbling and inspiring too! Finishing the show on Saturday was great... I even made my first ever sale than you to the lovely American lady moving to Hong Kong next week!"

Zoe is a recent Design Craft graduate from Staffordshire University, working with bone china and print her work shows a true talent. Her work captures a theme of tradition and nostalgia whilst tying in contemporary imagery focusing on form and pattern. From flicking through her portfolio, Zoe's passion for what she does is definitely apparent and the sort of work that will be desired by many. We would like to congratulate her for showcasing her work at the New Designers exhibition, and hope many more exciting opportunities come her way.
