Claire Bellia is a recent graduate of Visual Communication at Leeds College of Art. Her distinctive and expressive style is translated through fluid brushstrokes and inks, combined with images of whimsy and quintessential femininity in traditional, handmade outcomes. As well as her ink Illustrations, Claire also experiments with mediums including printmaking, surface pattern and poster design, as well as pyrography (woodburning)- creating beautifully handcrafted brooches, our favourite being 'Ages of Womanhood', which follows the narrative of a young woman falling in love, which can be found on her online portfolio (see link above). What we love most about Claire's work is the expression and character in all of her design pieces- the handmade methods, along with the stories they tell- her work is light-hearted, humourous, but, most of all, something truly unique.
